School Food
Through the work of Lynn Grows, we hope to partner with the Lynn School District to develop an avenue for residents and institutional partners to engage with the school food process. Our long-term goals include the following:
Support and advocate for various existing program possibilities such as Breakfast in the Classroom, Farm-To-School and Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program.
Support a feedback system for school food for students and parents to provide the district with information to use in negotiations with contracted school food providers to increase redemption rates and healthy eating.
Continue to build on existing relationships with Lynn Public School District to maintain and increase school gardening infrastructure at all elementary schools to have an experience of growing, taking care of, harvesting and eating their own produce.
