Campaign for HIP Funding Works!
Thanks to all the people who advocated for the Healthy Incentives Program (HIP) funding by calling, emailing, and going to the State House to talk to legislators and share their stories, HIP resumed on May 23 after a supplemental budget of $2.1 million was signed to carry HIP through the end of the fiscal year (June 30). The house and senate have included $4 million for HIP in their budgets for FY19. HIP is a state program that matches SNAP (formerly known as food stamps) dollars at participating farm stands, farmers markets, and CSA's. Read more about it here!
